“I was in serious trouble…”

Although I had a green card for many years, I ended up detained, for a problem I had many years ago. I thought after nearly 30 years, my old problems wouldn’t follow me, but I was wrong. My case was very complex. It lasted for many years, and my case was heard by four or five judges. We had to fight lots of legal battles to get to the point where I could even ask the judge to let me stay in the U.S. Finally, after nearly seven years, my case was won! I am now able to keep working, and be with my family. Mr. Keen and Keen Law Offices were with me through the whole case, and didn’t give up until the case was over and I had won. I thank them together with my family for making it possible for me to put this behind me. I highly recommend Keen Law Offices. Now I am applying for US Citizenship!

“All I wanted was to live in the US with my husband and my daughter.”

We just bought a house, and were living the American Dream, but I needed my green card. I was so frustrated after my green card application was denied. My old lawyer never told me that an old charge would make me ineligible. I hired Chris Keen to help fix those charges. But then I made a mistake and was arrested on very serious new charges! My case that was already complex in the first place just got a lot harder. I had to go to the immigration court and ICE was trying to deport me, and I was also in front of a different court for my new problem. I was beginning to lose hope, and to think I would be deported, and would lose my dream of being with my family in our new house in the United States. Chris Keen and Keen Law Offices did not give up on me. They worked hard to fix my old charges, and after a long hard fight, I applied again for my green card, but this time, my application was granted! I now have a green card! I really feel like Mr. Keen and his team never gave up on my case, even though it became very difficult. I think my case required special lawyers who had the experience to handle all these difficult issues, and a lawyer who would fight hard and not give up. I’m glad I had Chris Keen and Keen Law Offices helping me win my case! When I got my green card from the mailbox of our family home, with my family, I had to pinch myself because I was living my dream!

“My father was a U.S. citizen, but I was born in another country.”

Everyone in the government kept telling me I didn’t belong in the U.S., that I should give up and go “home” to the U.K. Immigration kept trying to get rid of me, and even issued a deportation order. Luckily, I found Keen Law Offices. Mr. Keen was the only person who believed I was a citizen; he fought my case, and after a long battle, Immigration gave in. They even issued me a certificate stating that I was a U.S. citizen since birth! In this picture, I’m holding the deportation order in one hand and the certificate of citizenship in the other.

“I entered the United States as the wife of a U.S. citizen who was going to petition for my residency.”

Instead, he abused and then abandoned me. Since I no longer had basis for residency, I was given voluntary departure by the immigration court. But I had nowhere else to go, so I didn’t leave the U.S., and my voluntary departure turned into a deportation order. A few years later, after marrying another U.S. citizen, I went to Keen Law Offices. They were able to get my deportation order reopened and terminated. I received my residency, and eventually became a U.S. citizen myself. Since then, I’ve also been able to petition for three of my children.

“My husband filed for a divorce while we were still in the process of adjusting my status, and I had to leave the country with my child.”

I wouldn’t have been able to come back for at least 10 years, but Keen Law Offices turned my situation around. After getting an approved petition filed by my stepfather under the Childhood Status Protection Act and demonstrating extreme hardship for my elderly parents, Keen Law was able to obtain a waiver for both the 10-year deportation bar and the unlawful presence bar. I’m now happily and legally in the U.S. with my kids.

“When I was summoned to Immigration Court for a very old criminal case – it happened over 22 years ago – I hired the wrong lawyer.”

Even though I had a green card, I was deported because my attorney didn’t file the right applications or even turn in the papers on time. Then I went to Keen Law Offices, who appealed the case all the way up to the Court of Appeals and managed to overturn the deportation. They even changed the law for others in a similar situation. I’m now back in the U.S. with my kids, and I have my green card back, too.
